Residential renovation- (Almost complete) Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire

2 x Living spaces, an open plan Kitchen/Living/Diner, Large Utility, Plant room, Large glazed Extension,2 x Ensuites, WC, and Family Bathroom, Toy room and Entrance.
This project was with a lovely family of four, I worked alongside them to design all the spaces listed above. It was a beautiful cottage that needed full renovation along with a new contemporary glazed wing added to the right of the cottage. The cottage dates back to 1864 and it’s setting is simply breath taking. The clients knew the scale of the project and the investment they would be putting into it, daunted at this task and with opposing taste in some cases, they wanted to engage in someone who would look at the project from a different perspective and work alongside of them to create their home. I worked with them on the spaces listed above from creating the kitchen and bathroom designs to utility room and even the staircase which is a focal point. I presented the client with the concept of a Scandinavian style Interior to compliment the old cottage and all its features. We wanted to allow the beautiful scenery surrounding the contemporary extension to do all the talking, but at the same time, create a space full of features. The space was kept light, fresh and full of textures and subtle patterns that reflected nature which were complementary of the calm, spa like principles we wanted to achieve. The client is really happy with the projects progress to date and expressed their gratitude towards me for my input, however it is still a work in progress, so finishing pictures are in the pipeline. We recently made a sourcing trip for finishing touches and the client is in progress of ordering some more, as they are managing the project themselves, so I will update you all soon with more finished spaces.
